Friendship Through Flowers
Together with Bonsai, Tea Ceremony, and lovely Japanese gardens, Ikebana flower
arrangement has come to represent the serene beauty of Japanese culture at its' finest.  Ikebana is over five hundred years old, and has its' beginnings in the Buddhist tradition of offering flowers to the spirits for the ancestors.  Ikebana has since developed beyond its' religious roots to become a beautiful art form of its' own.  With the establishment of Ikebana International in 1956 and its' motto "Friendship Through Flowers", the World's appreciation of ikebana began expanding globally.

Ikebana International is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and about 8,500 members throughout the World.  Our North American Region (NAR) of Ikebana International has about 70 chapters with approximately 3,500 members.
